How Activate Panic in 911Cellular Mobile Safety App using Siri
- Download the Mobile Safety App (Campus Shield, HealthGuard, or your organization’s white label) from the App Store and register with valid credentials.
- Download Shortcuts from the App Store; if already installed, you can skip this step
- Open the Mobile Safety App and click on "More"
- Click on "Manage Voice Shortcut"
- Click on "Add Emergency Voice Shortcut"
- You will receive a confirmation screen popup that the “Hey Siri Activate Emergency” Shortcut has been added.
- If you have Siri enabled on your iOS, you can activate panic with this phrase “Hey Siri Activate Emergency”

How to Add Additional Phrases to Activate Panic
Option 1 (Create an activation phrase via our Mobile App)
- Open the Mobile Safety App
- At the right corner of the screen tap on “More”
- Tap on “Manage Voice Shortcuts”
- Tap on “New Emergency Voice Shortcut”
- There should be a pop up screen with “Record Phrase”
- Tap on “Record Phrase” to record a new phrase to activate a panic
Option 2 (Create a shortcut via Shortcuts App)
- Open the Shortcuts iOS App
- Navigate to “All Shortcuts”
- Tap on the plus Tap on “Add Action” button in the top right corner of the screen
- Find CampusShield, HealthGuard, or your organization’s white label from the list of apps and select it. You can also select from the “Suggestions from your App” section.
- Select the “Activate Emergency” option.
- At the top of the screen, enter the activation phrase that you want to speak to Siri to activate your new emergency shortcut. You can also specify an emergency type to be automatically sent in with your emergency, otherwise you will be prompted to provide an emergency type every time you activate your shortcut.
- Press the “X” in the top right when you are done.
- Be careful to not press the play button in the bottom right corner, as this will activate your shortcut and initiate a panic.
How to Delete Phrases
- Open shortcuts app on your iOS
- Long press on the Phrase you want to delete
- Tap “Delete” from the list on options provided to delete the phrase
How to enable Siri on your iOS Device
- Go to Settings
- Scroll Down to Siri & Search and tap to open
- Enable “Listen for Hey Siri”
How to enable Action Button on iOS to Activate Panic
- Go to Settings
- Select “Action Button”
- Swipe to shortcut and then choose the shortcut was created from the siri screen in the mobile app
Common Issues
- I use the phrase “Hey Siri Activate Emergency”, but it dials 911 instead
- Check if you have shortcuts installed on your iOS Device
- I used one of the phrases I created to activate panic but Siri does not recognize the phrase and nothing happens
- Verify if the phrase is part of panic activation shortcuts
- Open the Mobile Safety App → Tap on More → Manage Voice Shortcuts; and you should be able to see a list of phrase(s) that will activate panic

- Can the Phrase work without my location?
- No, the Phrase will not work if location access for the app is not set to “always”, or “while using the app”
- Will the Phrase work, when my phone is locked?
- At this time, Activating Emergency while your phone is locked is not possible. Your phone needs to be unlocked for the phrase to work.
