Several options can be presented to end users who trigger an alert, this article examines them all.
What end users see after they trigger an alert (using either the keyboard 'Hotkeys' or the mouse activation) depends on the backend settings created by the System Administrator. Let's dive into the options:
Option #1: Countdown enabled
System Administrators can enable a countdown after the alert is triggered. Countdown timers are enabled on the Computer Panic Button Configuration Page:
Here's what end users see when the countdown is enabled (and Incident Types are enabled):
If the Countdown Timer is enabled, the alert will be triggered either when end users choose an incident type or when the timer reaches zero.
Option #2: Countdown disabled
If your System Administrator has not enabled the countdown timer, end users MUST select an Incident Type (or click 'Send Info Now' if Incident Types are disabled) before any information will be sent to the Portal.
What if Incident Types are not configured?
If Incident Types are not configured, end users will see a slightly different popup. Here's what the popup will look like if there are no Incident Types configured and Countdown Timer is enabled:
Here's a screenshot of what the end user popup looks like if no Incident Types are enabled and Countdown Timer is disabled:
