What Does Anonymous Mean When Submitting a Tip in the 911Cellular Mobile Safety App?
Overview
The Mobile Safety App may offer an Anonymous option when you submit a tip. Choosing Anonymous changes how the standard reporter name and callback phone are displayed. It does not make all information in your report unidentifiable.
What changes when I select Anonymous?
• The standard tip view shows Anonymous rather than the normal reporter name.
• The standard callback-phone field is not displayed for an anonymous tip.
• The details you write or attach can still identify you. Review photos, documents and descriptions for identifying information before submitting.
• Anonymous reporting and any option to share your location are separate choices. Review each setting that appears in your app.
How to review your choices before submitting a tip
1. Open the tip-reporting feature in your organization's Mobile Safety App.
2. Choose the appropriate tip category, when prompted, and enter the information you wish to report.
3. If an Anonymous option is available, review it. Separately check any option to send or include your location.
4. Review your written message and all attachments for personal details you do not intend to share.
5. Submit the report using the controls displayed in your version of the app.
Important: The exact screen labels and available choices vary by app version and institution setup. Ask your organization for guidance before sharing sensitive content if you are unsure what recipients can see.
Will someone receive and respond to my tip?
A tip may be routed to the people your organization has configured for the selected category. Routing, staff availability and delivery services can affect when someone becomes aware of it. A successful submission does not establish that a person received, read or acted on the tip.
For immediate danger or a medical, fire or other emergency, follow your organization's emergency procedures or contact emergency services as appropriate. Do not use tip reporting as your only means of requesting urgent assistance.
Troubleshooting
• Cannot find the tip feature: Confirm you are signed into the correct organization and ask your administrator whether tip reporting is enabled for your account.
• Anonymous or location choice is missing: Ask your administrator which options are supported for your device, app version and organization.
• Submission fails: Check the device connection and try again as appropriate. Avoid sending multiple copies if the first submission might already have succeeded.
• Unsure who receives reports: Ask your organization how tips are routed and whom to contact if the matter needs urgent follow-up.
