Where can I find my CPB Log files?

There are two ways to access the CPB software's log files on Windows machines. This article will walk you through both methods.

What are log files?

Log files are text documents that are automatically generated by the Computer Panic Button.  These files include a chronological list of actions completed by the software.  Log files may contain valuable information on the behavior of the software, so if you run into an issue with the system, 911Cellular support might request your log files.

Accessing log files via the CPB software (Windows)

1. Right-click on the CPB icon in your Windows Tray and click 'Details'

2. In the Details Window, click 'Open Log Folder'

3. An explorer window will pop up.  Double-click the user name folder to access the log files.  These files can be compressed into a ZIP file and sent via Google Drive/Dropbox.  Otherwise, you may attach the logs individually to an email.

Accessing log files via the Run app (Windows)

1. Search Run in the Windows Search Bar, or press Windows Key + R to enter the Run app

2. Enter %appdata% and click 'OK'

3. An explorer window will pop up.  From here, navigate to cpb>logs>username to access the log folder.  These files can be compressed into a ZIP file and sent via Google Drive/Dropbox.  Otherwise, you may attach the logs individually to an email.
