Learn how to enable one-way audio streaming for your BadgeR+ devices through the 911Cellular portal. This feature lets dispatchers hear live audio during an incident for faster and more informed response.
Step 1: Verify and Update Firmware Version
-
In the 911Cellular portal, navigate to Manage Devices → Wireless Panic Buttons.
-
Check the Firmware Version column to confirm your device is running 2.4.0 or later.
A greyed-out flag = the device is unflagged (eligible for update but not yet selected).
A blue flag = the device is flagged and will update automatically on its next check-in if it has at least 3.6 V (≈ 50%) battery.
3. To update devices:
-
-
Individually: Click the grey flag to queue that device for update.
-
In bulk: Go to Settings → Applications → Wireless Panic Buttons, then under Firmware, click Release.
This flags all devices that aren’t already running the latest version.
-
-
-
-
The update occurs when the device checks in and has at least 3.6 volts of battery (≈50%).
-
The process takes about 2 minutes, and the device will be temporarily offline during the update.
-
-
Devices not yet flagged remain on their current firmware until selected or bulk-released.
Step 2: Enable Audio in the Portal
-
Go to Settings → Applications → Wireless Panic Buttons.
-
Scroll to the Audio Recording section.
-
Toggle Audio Recording Enabled to ON.
-
Set the Audio Duration (minutes) to your preferred length (default is 10 minutes).
-
Click Save to apply the settings.
Step 3: Confirm Configuration
-
Once the update is complete, the new settings will automatically sync to all updated devices once the device checks in and has sufficient battery (≥3.6V).
-
You can verify by triggering a test event to ensure audio successfully streams to the Dispatcher Application.
That’s it! Once firmware and settings are updated, your BadgeR+ devices will automatically stream audio during active alerts.
